Antiquarian Sheet Music pre 1840 was hand printed on parchment and often signed by the composers by hand as an early form of copyright and identity ownership. This tradition was carried on until the era of automated printing presses came into the foreground of sheet music production in the 1930s. There are wonderful pieces from the Antiquarian music era and include a wide range of beautifully archaic sheet music displaying our heritage and tradition and are a great way for musicians and scholars of social history alike to get in touch with the past.
